Our very last day in Greece was fun and exhausting, but well worth it. It was also Pastor Ryan’s birthday!! We celebrated him by getting a cake with a candle, really annoying noise makers, and singing “Happy Birthday” at the top of our lungs in the hotel lobby. We got him an iced coffee cup, because it seems to be the theme here in Greece for us. Everywhere we went we got iced coffee. Especially at camp, every day we would make iced coffee with Nescafe. Vasilia was so sweet to get us all a can of Nescafe because they don’t sell the Frappe one in the states.
We met Vasilia in the hotel lobby and she took us one last time around the city so we could buy souveniers. We walked a lot. We were exhausted, but so grateful we got to spend our last day with Vasilia walking throughout the city. At the end of our time together we had an awesome surprise! Vasilia led us to the church where most of the kids were from camp. They were helping lead summer activities for younger kids. It was so sweet to see the kids we helped mentor and love on, help and love on kids younger than them! We ate a quick lunch together and wept as we said goodbye. It was really hard to leave them, and to have to say goodbye, again. Although we were so happy to see them again, we were sad we had to leave them. We all prayed together one last time and embraced.
