Wow, time is flying! I can’t believe that in just over 5 weeks, the Ignite Greece team will all be flying! A few of us from the Bridge Church will be boarding a plane headed to Greece, with hearts ready to serve. What an amazing opportunity this is going to be.
We wanted to set this blog up for all of you who want to join us (as much as possible) through this amazing journey. We also wanted to give you an opportunity to read about why we felt so called to go, what our vision is, and what our hope is for this mission; plus, an opportunity to see how the trip went once we return.
The Bridge Church has been asked to help ignite a youth movement in Athens, Greece. There will be a team of us on fire for the Lord, coming together to love on the youth of Athens’ Foursquare Church. More specifically, we will be helping host this church’s first ever summer youth camp. We have a few musically talented folks from The Bridge, so we will be leading a music outreach in downtown Athens. We will also be spending time learning and worshiping in Ancient Corinth, the Acropolis, and Mars Hill- all very significant places of church history.
Our plane doesn’t take off until June 21st, but in order to prepare our hearts for all that is to come, we as a team have fully dedicated our time, prayers, and devotions to this trip. If you too want to partner with us, we need partnership in two specific areas:
1. Prayer. We need team members who will partner with us in prayer as we prepare for the trip, and will pray for us while we are in Greece. The greatest breakthroughs on a mission’s trip such as this do not come by human effort, they are the direct result of the powerful and effective prayers of men and women like you. (James 5:15). Your prayer in the following areas would be a blessing as well; team unity, team preparation, financial provision for the team, safe travels, and that each team member would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and His prompting to us before, during and after the trip.
2. Financial Support. The trip costs are approximately $2,800 per person which covers not only the transportation and food needed, but also covers the cost of outreach and ministry.
